In addition to the above schools, Brighton High School is also worth a mention. Brighton High School is one of the schools within the larger Brighton South Community Education Precinct. Brighton High School is known to have a well-balanced and natural atmosphere that is quite different from some of the private schools in the area.
Based on personal experience, I can say that Marryatville High School may offer the most balanced and natural educational environment. The student relationships, quality of teachers, and friendships were far better than what I experienced at Rostrevor College, a Christian all-boys school. The grounds of Marryatville High School, the quality of teachers, and facilities were much better, even considering it's a public school system that costs significantly less than private schools.
Many of the rich upper-middle class children from private schools, including Rostrevor, Pembroke, and St Ignatius, ended up being real screw ups, taking their upbringing for granted and turning to negative life-changing activities. I didn't see this in public schools, where students often took full advantage of their positions and grew into incredible adults.
In conclusion, Adelaide's high schools offer a diverse range of educational experiences and are well-regarded for their commitment to academic excellence and extracurricular activities. Prospective students and their families should consider factors such as academic performance, extracurricular opportunities, and school culture when choosing the right high school for their child.
