Experiences and Future Expectations of the Vande Bharat Express
Introduction to the Vande Bharat Express
Recently, I had the opportunity to travel from Chennai to Mysore on the cutting-edge Vande Bharat Express. My experience with this modern, high-speed train has left me both impressed and with a host of expectations for future improvements. I will be sharing my positive observations and suggesting areas where enhancements could be made, along with future expectations for this exceptional railway service.
Positives
The Vande Bharat Express boasts a plethora of modern features that enhance both the safety and comfort of the travel experience. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the train is a marvel of engineering and innovation. Key highlights include:
Security Cameras: Ensuring a safe journey for all passengers. Shock Absorption: A smoother, more comfortable ride. Automatic Doors: Streamlining passenger interactions and making the boarding process more efficient. Revolving Seats: Offering flexibility in seating arrangement for the comfort of the passengers. One of the standout features of the Vande Bharat Express is its impressive speed. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 40 seconds, making the journey swift and efficient. Moreover, the quick response team on board each coach ensures that any emergencies are handled promptly and effectively. The OBHK (Operations, Maintenance and Back-Up) team is always present to ensure the maintenance of the coaches throughout the journey, providing peace of mind to the travelers.
Areas of Improvement
While the Vande Bharat Express offers a commendable level of comfort and service, there are certain areas that could be enhanced to provide an even more seamless travel experience. Some suggestions include:
Route Extension: The extension of this train to Mysore is not necessary as 90% of the train is typically empty in Bangalore alone. Instead, Shatabdi can continue its journey up to Mysore. This would not only make better utilization of current resources but also allow for efficient allocation of different trains to different routes. WiFi Connectivity: There is a need for constant monitoring and maintenance of the free WiFi service, which has been known to cause issues with speed and availability. Passengers often pay for internet access, and its consistent performance is crucial for their satisfaction and convenience. Track Upgradation: With better track upgradation, this train could potentially reach speeds of 180 km/hr. It is certainly capable of achieving such high speeds, and it is essential for the railways to focus on priority routes to enhance the overall efficiency and capacity of the network.Future Expectations
For the Vande Bharat Express to truly be a beacon of modern railway travel in India, there are several areas where improvements can be made:
Higher Speeds: The claim of only a 120 km/h speed is no longer impressive. Future aspirations should aim for speeds of at least 150 km/h and beyond to keep up with global standards and meet traveler expectations. Viability and Efficiency: Scrapping of redundant routes and low-profit routes is necessary. Railways should focus on routes that are both viable and efficient, rather than simply appeasing vote banks in specific regions. Sleeper Classes: The introduction of sleeper Vande Bharat trains would help to replace existing LHB rake express trains. This change would depend on the success of ongoing track upgradation programs. Total Replacement: The complete scrapping of LHB and ICF rake trains should be considered to introduce new, more efficient and comfortable rakes. This would further enhance the overall service quality of the Vande Bharat Express. In conclusion, the Vande Bharat Express has the potential to be a model of modern railway travel in India. By addressing the current challenges and setting high expectations for the future, the Indian Railways can continue to improve the overall experience for all travelers while contributing to the nation's infrastructure growth and development.
