Celebrating Bihar Diwas: Reflections and Aspirations of a Bihari
It has been three years since we last celebrated Bihar Diwas, and this year’s event brought a wave of joy and nostalgia. As a Bihari, there is an indescribable feeling of unity and pride when I see the love and celebration that the community shares.
Bihar: A Source of Pride
As a child of Bihar, I take immense pride in my home state. Bihar, with its rich history, culture, and natural beauty, is a source of immense pride for every Bihari. Our state is known for its warm and affectionate people, who bring a sense of comfort and belonging. However, the emotional turmoil of being a migrant cannot be denied, especially for those like me who have been away for years.
Life as an Immigrant in Delhi NCR
I have lived in Delhi, NCR for the past seven years, but I have never truly felt like I belong. Despite the bustling metropolis and opportunities it offers, I missed the warmth of my home state. For a Bihari, the longing for a familiar touch, the taste of home food, and the comforting embrace of fellow Biharis is something that will always resonate. However, the reality of living as an immigrant is different. It's a life of separation from family, constant hustling to make ends meet, and a sense of rootlessness.
Aspirations for the Future
On this special occasion of Bihar Diwas, I would like to express my longing for a better future. I wish to do something in my hometown, something that truly contributes to its growth and development. The dream of staying close to family, contributing to the community, and living a fulfilling life is what drives me to strive for change. I am confident that many of us, like me, have dreams of making a difference in our home state.
Furthermore, I encourage all Biharis, whether they are living in Bihar or away, to come together and support each other. Let us use this occasion to celebrate not just our state, but also our shared dreams and aspirations for a better future. Together, we can create a strong and vibrant Bihari community, where every individual feels a sense of belonging and is motivated to contribute to the progress of our state.
So, as we celebrate Bihar Diwas, let us also celebrate the power of unity, the strength of our dreams, and the unbreakable bond that connects us all as Biharis. In the words of a famous Bihari, 'Bihar me paida liye ho proud feel karo.' Indeed, it is our birthplace that should inspire us to take pride in everything we do.
